HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY
June 8, 2008
EXOTIC SPORTS CAR SHOW AND CONCOURS DELEGANCE
By: Lynn Scott
Well, folks, we (all of us) did it
again!! TWENTY-FIVE years is a
long time to be committed to an event like the Exotic Sports Car and
Concours Car show. This was one
of the largest grossing, and most successful Concours events yet raising
over $91,000.00 with $75,000.00 net, all to benefit the kids of Cerebral
Palsy of Colorado.
There were 365 cars on display this
year with approximately 4,000 spectators attending.
These two figures also deserve an explanation point or two!!
When RMR started this event in 1984 we had no idea that it would grow
and prosper like it has. This is a living example of a group of dedicated enthusiasts
committed to a cause which, without all of you, this Silver anniversary
would never have happened.
A special thanks to all of you who
participated either by preparing and bringing your fine cars, the very
special judges, all of the volunteers, and those individuals who came
through the gates to appreciate the unbelievable array of very fine
automobiles.
A simple
Thank You
does not nearly offer the
gratitude which is truly felt by those persons who serve on the organizing
Committee, and most importantly, those darling children at CP of Colorado.
By the way, in case youve not seen the new CP facility, it is well
worth the effort to go. What those wonderful, dedicated people are doing for the
children affected with cerebral palsy and other learning disabilities is
truly a miracle and they are angels.
Once again, we are indebted to all of
you who so willingly helped with one of
the most successful concours events ever!
Even though the morning mist (okay rain!) kept a few of the
regulars away, the sky cleared and cars started arriving to make this a very
successful car show in every way.
We wish to give special kudos to The
Committee, which is comprised of many individuals from the various local
car clubs, for their dedication and willingness to volunteer each year (talk
about paying it forward!!!) giving back to the community in such a
powerful way. Both givers and
receivers benefit greatly from your enthusiasm.
Another special area of accolades goes
to those wonderful corporate sponsors without whom the Concours would not
have been the grand success that it was.
This year they contributed over $36,000 to this event.
Please take a moment to review all of the sponsors which are listed
in the 2008 Event Program and thank them every chance you get.
Last, but definitely not least, the
staff of CP of Colorado who work tirelessly with the Committee to ensure the
smooth running and success of this show each year.
This event could not happen without YOU!
During the award ceremony this year,
Special Recognition Awards were given to those individuals and corporations
who have demonstrated a significant and long term commitment to the growth
and financial success of this event.
Their creativity, dedication, hard work and generosity have been
instrumental in achieving a level which can only be described as phenomenal.
